Easter

It started off with Jagger excited about an Easter egg hunt at pre-school.  We spent the morning filling eggs with candy.  (He got rave reviews from the teachers for his seersucker shorts...he looked so cute)

My wonderful, beautiful, dear friend Shannon braved her pregnancy and flew in from Vegas to spend the weekend with the boys and I.  Which made this holiday weekend, incredibly special.

The four of us attended our church's Easter Eggstravangaza for egg "hunting" (if throwing 1 and 2 year olds in a roped off area of plastic eggs can be considered a hunt)...

Pony rides.  (Jagger loved it, Jax on the other hand was extremley serious and uncertain)...

Face painting.  (Jagger requested a lion that was NOT on the "menu", Jax bucked and screamed and therefore forfeited his chance at a first face painting experience)...

And train ride (which was the only thing Jax truly enjoyed)...

Finally, Easter morning, I arose and went to the living room to find Jagger in his undies with a guilty panicked look. He turned and said, "look Mom, candy".  And there a small mountain of wrappers revealed themselves, beneath him.  He had managed to eat EVERYONE's Easter candy from there baskets before the rest of us arose.  Ha, ha.  I would have done the same.

Happy Easter!

Houston Rodeo

We strapped on our boots and headed to the rodeo

Jagger rode a horse (pony) "Red", for the first time.  He LOVED it!

He got an awful lot of attention for his shirt, boots and love of all thing John Deere...

(at the end of the day we stopped at a booth, where Jagger saw a man wearing a John Deere hat. He looked at him, then proclaimed, "Dad, he's a John Deere man, too!")

Jax got in on some fun too.
Not every 10 month old can rock a cowboy hat.

play in a box filled with corn kernels,

and admire the many animals.

I fell in love with this beautiful Longhorn.

It was a great time for all.

Yeehaw!

I am already excited to go back next year!

San Antonio

Jacob took vacation this weekend so that we could be in Florida for Nick and Sam's wedding.  Sadly, we did not make it there as we had so hoped.  To conquer our sadness we decided to at least keep moving and so, we ended up on a little road trip to San Antonio, Texas.

On our way we stopped in this tiny town along the way to stretch, play and relax.  We found a little park that was home to a beautiful and magnifcent tree:

We walked the Riverwalk, took a boat ride along it, and ate some pretty fantastic Mexican food:

We stayed at the Hilton on the river, and woke up the next day to some cool, windy weather.  We hopped over to this adorable little breakfast place and decided to hit the road and do the Alamo at a later (and warmer) date:

The next day we took a little detour down to Shiner, Texas to tour Spoetzl Brewery:

where we discovered one of the founders in the 1800's looks eerily like Jacob (would with a mustache):

Crazy, right?

Still wish we would have made it to Florida.  But this little adventure took some sting out of a planned weekend getaway!

PS: In case you didn't notice, momma got a new SD card.  I'm back! Snapping away on my phone.

Galveston

Grandmommy and Grandpa came to visit us Friday. And since they were only here for the day, we all decided to check out Galveston.  I wouldn't write home about the quality of the beach. The day started out a little dreary, but it was nice to be oceanside regardless.

We checked out the historical district. Some incredibly beautiful buildings. (I had no idea how much history Galveseton had, I can't wait to go back in May for the homes tour)

Then after we ate, we took the boys on their first Ferry ride.

It was a great day!

Winter in Houston

The date: Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012.  The weather: 73' degrees.  The activity: Family bike ride to the Lake.

Loving our weather, loving our life!!

why no updates...

SO, the reason I haven't updated the blog in over a month is not out of business or laziness (which are part to play but not in total)....but rather, I take ALL my pictures of the boys with my phone.  Well, I went to download all 800 of them and...my SD card broke. Nothing.  All gone.  So, I can no longer take photos or have ANY of them from the last 6 months.  Sad. Devestating.

I finally took a few today, so you Grandma's and family and friends can at least see how big they are getting!
