Mom Cave (aka Master Bath remodel) Magnifico!
We bought a nice house, that we have slowly been able to remodel over the last year, into our home. The kitchen was necessary, but this, this was for me. I desired a place to getaway. A retreat. A "mom-cave" so to speak. My dream space.
Master bathroom BEFORE:
cream colored carpet throughout, cultured marble tub and vanities, metal blinds on windows, plastic knobs, ugly taupe walls and brass and "crystal" plastic fixtures...
My vanity (Jacob's is behind him in the mirror...tub sits between)

Our former midget shower (it was TINY, like couldn't put your arms out small) and old gross white tile and brass fixtures and pebbled door

Jacob vanity
Water Closet...with a 30 year old toliet and horrible shutter doors.
His and hers walk-in closets are the angled doors, a shower and WC sit behind with doors to bedroom

Finally, the entry view. The old whirlpool garden bathtub was NOT my style.
Six LONG months later, I couldn't be happier!
NOW:
My vanity:
White carrara marble, new knobs, undermount sink, chrome faucets, clean and spacious!
Jacob Vanity:
Water Closet:
Good-Bye scary shutter doors, hello new custom door. (That still lets in the light)
a NEW fancy EAGO chair-height toliet (my "throne") and pretty glass tile wall:
No more carpet. Hello modern tile!
And since I am boring you with details...Jacob built me an extra shelf for my overwhelming shoe collection to match my Tiffany blue closet. (Don't worry there are three others you can't see in the picture)
The shower is ALL new. We gutted the shower down to the studs. Removed the hall closet in the foyer to enlarge the space. Raised the ceiling, new plumbing, lights, tile, everything. We added a niche and had a custom frameless shower door installed to complete it.
And the new focal point. Our new tub and filler, floor to ceiling glass tile wall, crystal chandelier. I love walking in to this view every morning.
I think Jagger said it best, "I could stay in here all day!"
It truly is, Magnifico!

Fourth of July
First off. I had a million great pics to update this blog with. I bought an oversized memory card, put away my phone and have been intentional about taking lots of good pictures. And I did. Then, on our family vacation, our camera was forever lost, with our amazing pictures I have taken over the last 6 weeks. Boohoo.
A friend was nice enough to share the following with me.
For the first time in maybe, seven years, Jacob had the fourth of July off. So, we threw a party. Lots of food (it took me days, but was well worth it), lots of friends, and even one (baby Leah, 4.5 weeks) who got to attend her very first party!

Happy Father's Day
The boys have grown older, taller, smarter, and funnier. But some things remain the same....even as they have changed. We love you Jacob, for what an amazing father, husband, friend and teacher you are to us all.

I found my thrill, on blueberry hill
Today the boys, some friends and I headed out to a local blueberry patch for some good time picking. It was the perfect day. Warm, cloudy, and the slight rumble melody of a thunderstorm looming in the distance.
Jagger wasn't too keen on giving up his indulging and picking of blueberries, for any photos.
Jag and his best buddy Jaxon had as much fun eating and picking as they did playing beneath the huge bushes and running the long rows.
getting some good tips from Paige.
Jax liked to eat straight off the bushes while held...
or on foot...
or out of the bucket.
In fact, I have never seen someone so small, consume so much.
Can't wait to go back.
Now off to make some fresh blueberry cobbler for Father's Day.

Cuddles with Daddy
These pictures were taken over a month apart, in this order. Twice I stumbled in to find J and one of our boys asleep on him in this exact same pose. Smitten with my amazing husband and beautiful boys!

My J's...
There have been travels out of town, company come and go, a master bathroom remodel in progress, sickness here and now....and one tired (lazy) momma! With requests looming over me, I have promised that "My J's" is still here, and will try and play a little catch up soon!
Until then, here is an awfully sweet picture we took today at the doctor. After a horrible week of a very sick Jagger, the comfort came from all angles.

Easter
It started off with Jagger excited about an Easter egg hunt at pre-school. We spent the morning filling eggs with candy. (He got rave reviews from the teachers for his seersucker shorts...he looked so cute)
The four of us attended our church's Easter Eggstravangaza for egg "hunting" (if throwing 1 and 2 year olds in a roped off area of plastic eggs can be considered a hunt)...
Pony rides. (Jagger loved it, Jax on the other hand was extremley serious and uncertain)...
Face painting. (Jagger requested a lion that was NOT on the "menu", Jax bucked and screamed and therefore forfeited his chance at a first face painting experience)...
My wonderful, beautiful, dear friend Shannon braved her pregnancy and flew in from Vegas to spend the weekend with the boys and I. Which made this holiday weekend, incredibly special.
Pony rides. (Jagger loved it, Jax on the other hand was extremley serious and uncertain)...
Face painting. (Jagger requested a lion that was NOT on the "menu", Jax bucked and screamed and therefore forfeited his chance at a first face painting experience)...
And train ride (which was the only thing Jax truly enjoyed)...
Finally, Easter morning, I arose and went to the living room to find Jagger in his undies with a guilty panicked look. He turned and said, "look Mom, candy". And there a small mountain of wrappers revealed themselves, beneath him. He had managed to eat EVERYONE's Easter candy from there baskets before the rest of us arose. Ha, ha. I would have done the same.
Happy Easter!
