On the town

Reading the paper with daddy on the bus:

Riding the El: Look at the boys matching expressions, funny!

He loved the sights, sounds and smells of the city:The boys:

Jacob's good friend Nick was in town for a couple of days, and wanted a little tour-de-Chicago. So we played tourist and hopped on the bus, saw Wrigley Field, rode the train, ate at a little local diner, headed to Michigan Ave, walked the Mag mile, then ended the day at the Millennium Park bean and left just in time to escape a downpour. Jag already loves being on the go! The only one who was tired at the end of the day was the momma (as seen clearly in the above pic!).

Getting Cheeky--6 weeks

Our baby is getting rather cheeky. Today was his 6 week check up appointment, and well...he is a BIG baby boy! Thankfully he is healthy as can be, and he is height and weight proportionate. BUT he is already 23.5 inches long and a whopping 13lbs!! In mommy talk, he is in the 97th percentile of height and weight! Check out those cheeks! I am pretty sure he is holding a good amount of weight in (both) his sweet little cheeks!

1 month old

During this week we gave Jagger his second bottle ever. He not only polished it off...he did it himself! The picture proves that he was holding it on his own and one handed!

FLORIDA: Sweet moments

I have always known I was blessed with the best of husbands. BUT nothing has been more beautiful than seeing my husband become a father. These were some of our sweetest moments yet, walking the beach as a family, and discussing the amazement we had for each other and what we have created.

FLORIDA: Sisterly love

Jacob adores his sister Hannah, they have always been close and I thought this pic was super cute! There is no better place to capture the two of them together then on the beach, babies in tow. ((And Edy looks like she is doing a little dance for the camera to boot!))

FLORIDA: First time to the ocean, 2 weeks old

FLORIDA: Baby soothing

At the ripe old age of 17 days, I broke down and introduced him to the pacifier. We learned quickly there is a reason so many people use these things, and yes, it does earn its name accordingly.

FLORIDA: Sleeping in a drawer

We headed down to Florida a few days after the wedding to spend time with Grandmommy, Grandpa (though I am always wanting to say Grandpoppy) Josh, Hannah and Edy. As Jacob and I are simpletons in the ways of baby stuff, we didn't have any fancy travel beds. So Grandmommy to the rescue. She shimmed up what turned out to be a wonderful and condo portable bed for Jagger. A dresser drawer! It worked like a charm. Thanks Grandmommy!

Happy Sleeper

Wedding weekend

It was so great to get to see both of our families, some whom we do not see often. On top of that celebrate Luke and Caitlan and add another amazing, beautiful sister to our brood. Jacob got to be a cozy couch to Jagger's two cousins.

Being the first grandchild and nephew on my side, he was a real hit with the family.

Great Grandmothers

Jagger got to meet Grandma Mason, Grandma Henry and Granny Shell this weekend. (Sadly, I do not have a picture of him with Granny Shell).

5 weeks old today

I know I am still trying to get caught up on here with pictures and such...but had to share a little story from today. Jagger turned 5 weeks, and as I watched him lying wide awake in his crib, I cranked the musical mobile (airplanes of course) and rubbed his belly as he gazed upward smiling, cooing and then laughing, for what seemed like an eternity. It melted my heart into a million pieces!! Motherhood is so amazing!
