AirVenture

My wonderful husband has always wanted to attend the International AirVenture show in Oshkosh, WI. But so do most other pilots. (To give you an idea of its popularity-during this week, Oshkosh is the busiest airport in the WORLD! An airplane lands almost every 30 seconds!)
DAY 1:
Although this is a "fly-in" advent, we drove.  We took a leisurely road trip up the coast of Lake Michigan and made some stops along the way.  Here are a few snapshots, of yet another, amazing trip.  First stop, Cedarburg, WI. Beautiful, historic, little town we loved.

Next we stopped at Port Washington, WI.  Perfect day, scenic lake views and a relaxing walk around the Port, made a great break.
We ended the evening in a historic little Irish hotel built in the 1800's, in Plymouth. It only has 18 rooms, and also considered a B&B since a made to order omelet and breakfast buffet are included.  We were lucky enough to also be there on a night that offered free live Irish music.  (Jagger LOVED it--video hopefully to follow)

DAY 2:
After breakfast we made our way into Oshkosh (via scenic route around Lake Winnebago) and started the fun.  I have NEVER seen so many airplanes in my life in one spot! It was amazing. From old warbirds, to historic airliners, bi-planes, single engine, ultra lights, and multi-million dollar private jets and more. From new models for sale, used, private planes that were flown in (and camped under) and more. It was insane.  So, here are a small handful of the MANY pictures we took of the air show!

In honor of you, Mom Mason:
Before we headed out of town we ate at this scrumptious little drive in diner that is over 50 years old. The waitress' still take and deliver your order on roller-skates! We enjoyed some homemade rootbeer floats, hamburgers, onion rings and headed home.

Of course, we had to end the night at a Cracker Barrel by request of my darling dearest.  It was a wonderful time had by all.

(Did I mention Jagger now reaches for our hands to be held when walking?  We are smitten.)
The End.

A room with a view

A friend of ours invited us out to Connecticut for a couple days to stay at his parent's lovely home. We ate amazing food, soaked in the pool, and piddled around on Lake Candlewood.  It felt like a private getaway at our own B&B. We had our own space in the poolhouse, were cooked delicous meals and chauffeured around this beautiful area an hour north of NYC. We had an amazing time!
My favorite part was eating outside every night in the perfect weather, Jacob liked getting in the hot tub and pool and Jagger got to ride on a boat, in a convertible and add two more states to his destinations of travel. (Jag and I were lucky enough to stay an extra night in Brooklyn with friends.)

Independence weekend

We had an entire weekend together as a family this holiday. Saturday we spent the day enjoying music and a picnic in Millennium Park, playing in the Crown Fountain, and shopping...

And today we spent the day relaxing, taking a lazy stroll along the boulevard in the heat, enjoying Miko's Italian ice, and now we are packing up to head to Florida (well Jagger and I--daddy will join us in 4 days) to spend sometime with the whole Smith clan for the next 10 days!

Ahhh, summertime!

Happy Birthday Jagger Saint!!

Our baby is ONE!

There were cupcakes and ice cream, singing cards, sunshine, dancing, great gifts (books, legos, magna doodle, tool set, clothes and more!) and mostly, lots of laughter.  A perfect end to a perfect year!

Jagger is ONE!

We spent the first half of the day downtown...
