FLORIDA: First time to the ocean, 2 weeks old

FLORIDA: Baby soothing

At the ripe old age of 17 days, I broke down and introduced him to the pacifier. We learned quickly there is a reason so many people use these things, and yes, it does earn its name accordingly.

FLORIDA: Sleeping in a drawer

We headed down to Florida a few days after the wedding to spend time with Grandmommy, Grandpa (though I am always wanting to say Grandpoppy) Josh, Hannah and Edy. As Jacob and I are simpletons in the ways of baby stuff, we didn't have any fancy travel beds. So Grandmommy to the rescue. She shimmed up what turned out to be a wonderful and condo portable bed for Jagger. A dresser drawer! It worked like a charm. Thanks Grandmommy!

Happy Sleeper

Wedding weekend

It was so great to get to see both of our families, some whom we do not see often. On top of that celebrate Luke and Caitlan and add another amazing, beautiful sister to our brood. Jacob got to be a cozy couch to Jagger's two cousins.

Being the first grandchild and nephew on my side, he was a real hit with the family.

Great Grandmothers

Jagger got to meet Grandma Mason, Grandma Henry and Granny Shell this weekend. (Sadly, I do not have a picture of him with Granny Shell).

5 weeks old today

I know I am still trying to get caught up on here with pictures and such...but had to share a little story from today. Jagger turned 5 weeks, and as I watched him lying wide awake in his crib, I cranked the musical mobile (airplanes of course) and rubbed his belly as he gazed upward smiling, cooing and then laughing, for what seemed like an eternity. It melted my heart into a million pieces!! Motherhood is so amazing!

Planes, trains and traveling

At 8 days old (with the permission of our pediatrician of course), we packed our bags and headed off to KC for Luke and Caitlan's wedding. He did great on the train.

My sweet husband looked a bit like a traveling circus. He carried Jagger on his chest, two carry on suitcases behind him and the diaper bag. He didn't want me to have to do anything. I am a lucky girl to have him. It made the first time flying rough, let me tell you! We were scared to be "that couple with the baby" on the plane. But fortunately for us, there were few people around us and the noise of the plane must of been soothing, as he slept almost the entire time.

All aboard

At 3 days old we took him out for his first adventure. A yacht ride on Lake Michigan. He loved it so much he slept the whole time.

The first day...

Daddy was smitten from the start. The first night we had him in the hospital, he slept on Jacob all night. SO cute!

Once home we mostly just sat around and watched Jagger and his sweet little cheeks!

My beautiful flowers, from my wonderful husband.

My parents stayed in town to help us for a few days...but I think they mostly just wanted to hold him.

By day two...all he and I wanted to do, was sleep!
